COMMUNITY PARTICIPATES IN THE FEAST OF DON BOSCO AT KOSWATTA PARISH

February 16 2025

Today, we received an invitation from the Koswatta Parish for the Feast of Don Bosco. It is the only parish in Sri Lanka dedicated to St. John Bosco. We were grateful to the parish priest and the youth group for inviting us. Our aspirants had the opportunity to perform with both the brass band and jazz band, adding joy and colour to this beautiful celebration.

On 21st February, the Salesian community enjoyed a much-needed day out at Guruge Park, fostering fraternity and joy among the members. Soon after, on 22nd February, Fr. Rector conducted online philosophy classes for the brothers, while the boys returned from their medical vacation.

Community meetings and works marked the following days. On 24th February, there was a meeting for PT brothers, and on 25th February, the parents of the aspirants came to assist with the demolition of the dormitory toilet area, showing their support and solidarity with the seminary.

Academic life reached its peak at the end of the month. On 27th February, the results of the IT Third Semester were published. Then, on 29th February, the Third Semester Examinations officially began, engaging the boys in earnest study and discipline.

Thus, February unfolded with a balance of prayer, academic commitment, pastoral engagements, moments of joy, and challenges that strengthened the fraternity of the community.
