Don Bosco Seminary, Dankotuwa, celebrated World Children's Day 2024 with vibrant events under the theme "Protection and Equality for Our Children." Sponsored by the Wennappuwa Municipal Council, the seminary was recognized as a model school for promoting a safe and healthy environment for the holistic growth of children and adolescents.

The day began with a Solemn Holy Eucharist in honor of St. Therese of the Child Jesus, followed by a community outreach program where students distributed leaflets to local businesses and households, raising awareness about environmental pollution and waste segregation. The event featured a colorful stage program with dances, songs, and a keynote speech by Professor H.M. Lalith Ashoka, Director of Health Education, Puttalam District.

In recognition of the seminary’s commitment to sustainability, the council also designated it as a model agricultural farm, providing agricultural tools and 100 saplings for cultivation. The celebrations concluded with games and recreational activities at Don Bosco Technical School, Negombo, sponsored by Rev. Fr. Reginold Fernando.
